ENRICHMENT CLASSES

Several times a year, KinderPrep offers an opportunity to the 4 year old program students to extend the learning day through Enrichment classes. Typically, these classes meet for six consecutive weeks from 12:15 until 1:45 and cost an additional $90-$180 for the six- and twelve-week sessions.  Children enjoy lunch together (which the parent provides) then engage in the enrichment class activity.  KinderPrep usually runs fall, winter and spring sessions of enrichment classes.  Our most popular enrichment classes include the following:

Introduction to Dance

Taught by staff members who are professional dance instructors from Dynamic Movements, children receive introductory instruction in ballet, jazz, and tumble.  Children gain coordination, flexibility, and a rudimentary understanding of music.

My Amazing Body!

This class studies human biology at a preschool level--a mini med school of sorts!  Teachers lead lessons on a different body system each week and answer questions such as: Where does all that food I eat go?  What happens when my skin is injured?  Why does my heart beat?  What is blood for?  Why do my arms and legs move?  Is there really a control center in my head?

Holiday Cooking

Children work with a variety of foods, measuring implements, and kitchen utensils to create child-friendly cuisine with a holiday flair.  They learn about following recipes, kitchen safety, and nutrition with Thanksgiving and Christmas influenced foods.

Santa's Workshop

Using a variety of art mediums, children create Christmas themed crafts that they can give as presents to their loved ones.

How to Be an Artist

Students study techniques used by several well-known artists and then create their own artwork using those methods.  This class is offered as a twelve-week session.

STEM Building and More!

Put on your thinking caps for this class!  Children build and create as they explore awesome science concepts and engineer cool designs as they explore the awesome world God gave us.

Animal Powers

Put on your sarfari hats and grab your life science journals.  God made so many different kinds of animals, each with its special way of being amazing and unique.  From puffer fish to snakes and spiders, students learn about animal life cycles with visits from real animals!

Budding Botanists

Created in partnership with Chesapeake Master Gardeners, this enrichment class teaches students all about students learn all about soil, plants, and pollinators. Children discover that God gave us tiny seeds that grow into food for us to eat and enjoy.

My Big Backyard

Offered towards the end of the year, this enrichment leads children through some of the "old-fashioned" games that we used to enjoy when we were young: kickball, sack races, tee ball, freeze tag, and others.  There is lots of running, hopping, skipping, ball throwing--and absolutely no sign of electronic devices or battery anywhere!

But that's not all!!!

Enrichment classes vary from year to year.  Past offerings that are sure to be seen again include:
