FAQs
What are your preschool hours?
Our preschool operates from 9:00 – 12:00; Kindergarten runs from 9:00 – 1:30.
What days will my child attend?
That depends upon the program you choose. 2 ½ year olds attend two days a week, M/W or T/Th. 3 year olds attend 3 days a week (T,W,Th) or 4 days a week (M-Th). 4 year old attend 4 days a week (M-Th) or 5 days. Trans K and Kindergarten attend 5 days.
Do you offer before and after school care?
No, we do not offer extended day care. We are a morning only preschool program.
What are your class sizes?
That also depends upon the program. Our 2 ½ year old classes have 10 children; 3 year old classes have 10-14 children; 4 year old classes have up to 16 children; Trans-K has up to 12 children; Kindergarten has up to 16 children. Each class has both a teacher and a teacher assistant.
Will my child eat a snack?
Yes, our daily schedules all include snack times. We ask that you provide the snack for your child each day in a bag labeled with the child’s name and current date. A drink of some kind and one nutritious snack item is all that is necessary.
Will my child go outside?
Yes, we take the children outside if at all possible for a scheduled gross motor time each and every day. In inclement weather, we have a large fellowship hall that provides wonderful “running room” space. Please make sure that your child wears tied/velcroed closed-toed shoes every day as these are the best shoes for active play. When the weather turns a little cooler, be sure your child has a jacket labeled with your child’s name each day, and even mittens and a hat on colder days.
Will my child attend chapel?
Yes, children have a chapel time in the church sanctuary each and every week. We always enjoy praising God with music and listening to a lesson from the Bible. We follow a chapel curriculum that introduces the children to God, Jesus, the Bible, prayer, living as Jesus wants us to live (Fruits of the Spirit), then follows the life of Jesus from Christmas through Easter. We finish up the year with some favorite Old Testament stories.
Will we be able to meet the teacher prior to the first day?
Absolutely! The week prior to school (the last week in August) will include a Parent Meet and Greet night for parents and a Teddy Bear Tea for the children. The Parent night is typically the Wednesday evening of that week, and Teddy Bear Teas are typically the Thursday morning of that week. You will receive specific dates in your child’s Back to School Letter in August.
May I come for a tour?
Yes! Of course, our hallways and rooms are very quiet during the summer, but you are welcome to see our facility and show your child where he/she will be attending next year. We can show you into some of the classrooms and explain more about our program. Give us a call most mornings or leave a message, and we will get back in touch with you.
